Workshop

August Lighting Workshop TBD

Here is what one student said.

“If you want to take your art to the next level, you must check out Barry’s workshop! I’ve been dying to learn how to make Vanity Fair group portraits and this workshop helped me wrap my head around the techniques I’d need to rock the shot. I already have two gigs in the works to recreate this style on my own terms. Barry is super generous and helpful and knows how to break it down for the experienced shooter and the new photographer too.”

Megan Dipiero
Award-Winning Certified Professional Photographer

After creating the above image, I have been asked by many photographers if I would do a live hands-on workshop demonstrating how I created the group image. This workshop will show how I created my group shot at Duns Castle in Scotland, with minimal equipment, and finally, how I retouched and color-toned the image.
Are you cautious about speed lights and strobes? After this workshop, you will be able to build your own lighting setups.

We will start the day at 11 a.m. with a light breakfast, and at mid-day, lunch will be provided. We will wrap around 7:00 p.m.

There’s a maximum of 8 attendees to ensure each photographer gets hands-on time with the setup and have full access to my crew and me.

We’ll be shooting at a studio in Washington, DC.
This exclusive workshop will allow me to tailor the class to each student.

My entire creative team, including a beautiful subject/model, will be at your disposal. The recreation of the group shot will be our main focus, so be prepared to be a part of the shot. You will also have personal time with the model in a variety of setups and outfits.
You will be able to walk away with beautiful images that you can use in your portfolio (see T&Cs).
